(1) Dies the Victim, Dies the City
I am going to be completely honest, i did not like it. The death at the beginning was really well written and kept my attention for a while but it lost me towards the end. It was too much information, and it was not really painting a picture in my head so i got bored and drained with too much information at the same time that it just lost everything into it. Detail was very good at the beginning as well, did not like the ending much, but i did love the ending sentence, just wish it was like that the entire story.
It's an Honor
Since the beginning, i was hooked with the word gravediggers. This feature was a lot more detailed and had more of the movie feels. I like how it starts with waking up in the morning and eating breakfast, because it is something we can all mostly relate to. It also paints the picture of the how it must feel to be there. The story it's self was pretty interesting to me, but in my opinion nothing tops the cheerleader story. I challenge you to find something like the cheerleader story Mr. Winter, it was really well written.
(2) 1. Leads
2. Descriptive
3. Narrative
4. Startling Statement
5. Twist
6. Direct Quote
7. Transitions
8. Don't State the Obvious
9. Tie Ending with Lead
10. Avoid adding yourself to the story
I put them in this order just because, i felt like leads are the most important just for the reason that they need to capture the audiences attention. Descriptive is important because it allows the reader to visualize what's going on in the story and isn't that the most important thing? The narrative is what tells the story, wouldn't that be extremely important, with no narrative there is no story. Starting statement and twist go together they both add the drama and drama captures the readers attention. Direct quotes allow the reader to know what the actual person was feeling at that moment. Transitions, make the story move smoothly without confusing the reader for that it makes it as an important part in the future writing. From number eight down, they are all statements we have talked about before. Just stating the obvious on the last ones.
I am glad you liked the cheerleader story so much. If I don't ever find its equal in your eyes, at least I introduced to that story, and I'll take that result any day. 100
